The Football Association revealed the list of cities and stadiums that have been chosen to represent the country and will be presented to FIFA.

In order to host the games, Nottingham City has been told that it must build a new stadium which will have to comply with FIFA standards. Should the city fail to do this then it will drop out of the running to host the games altogether.

It was feared that disputes between Nottingham City council and Nottinghamshire County Council over where to build the new stadium and the lack of FIFA compliant stadiums may have affected their application.

However, many elements of the bid have been praised, including plans for a World Cup park along the River Trent, innovative fan festivals and ambitious plans for women’s football, including making a new stadium, a ‘Wembley for Women’.

The other cities that have been chosen are: Sunderland, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Bristol and Plymouth. London will forward four stadia to FIFA including Wembley, the new White Hart Lane or Olympic Stadium and the Emirates. Manchester will put forward both premier league side stadiums Old Trafford and City of Manchester Stadium.
If England were to make the grade and be picked to host the 2018 World Cup, FIFA would then chose just 12 of the stadiums presented to them out of the 15 which the FA submitted to them.

The final decision on which country will host the 2018 World Cup games will be announced in late 2010 by FIFA.

Any new publications by companies seemed to have a logo on there, asking people to follow them and keep up-to-date with their latest products. We also found out, after do some research, that there are many celebrities using Twitter keeping the public informed of what they are up to, whether they are eating their breakfast or getting ready for a new film, people liked to know.

Nottingham is located in the east midlands with a relatively small population of 288,700; the wider Nottingham Urban Area has a population of 667,000. Nottingham is famous for its link with the legend of Robin Hood and also during the late 18th early 19th century for its lace making industry. Trent Bridge holds major sporting events in the cricket calendar such as international Test matches and the Twenty20 cup finals and often hosts one day internationals.

Nottingham also has a Rugby League team (Nottingham R.F.C.) and a Rugby Union team (Nottingham Outlaw R.L.F.C.) and host the Nottingham open at the large tennis facility they have which is normally in the weeks leading up to Wimbledon as a warm up for the stars playing in the championships. With so much sport, there is gaurenteed to be a sporting event you’ll want to be part of.

Nottingham’s has always been a big industry city since the industrial revolution with its lace marketing and is now home to some of Britain’s and the World’s top firms including the birth place of Boots and Raleigh Cycles.
